I have decided to dedicate Tuesdays to sharing a new activity I've done or plan to do with Jack.
So with out further ado, Here is my most recent creation...
DIY Color Sorter

You will need: A pair of scissors, white labels, a writing utensil, a recycled container of choice, markers, and these counting cubes that I found at The Dollar Tree. |

Start by using a cube to trace desired amount of squares. I chose three because I don't want to overwhelm Jack and this is a realistic amount for him, which will allow him to finish successfully. |

Cut out your squares |

Color your address labels. I originally wanted to focus on the primary colors, but seeing as yellow wasn't an option, I chose orange. |

Cut out your labels, so that they outline the squares. |

Add your desired amount of cubes to container. I chose 5 of each color. Again, because I didn't want to overwhelm him, |

and Viola! a homemade color sorter. This is great for fine motor, hand-eye coordination, and not to mention learning the colors. |

Feel free to decorate the outside if you want. Or better yet, have your toddler help. :) |

Disclaimer: Since the cubes used for this activity are a choking hazard, I will monitor Jack the entire time, to ensure his safety. I plan to try this out over the weekend with Jack. I will update later on how it went.
